This new years we have a very special event at the 2410. With the recession we decided to do a very low ticket price and include champagne toast at midnight. The event begins at 8 pm and will go until 8 am! Lot's of great artists have been added to create a very unique and special evening for everyone. Ladytron makes electronic pop music, using an array of vintage analogue equipment to achieve their distinct sound. Albums so far have focused on a balance between pop structures and digitally edited analogue electronic sound, along with some more experimental leanings. All four members write songs differently, which adds to the eclectic nature of their albums. Their third album, Witching Hour, saw an augmentation of their sound, leading the album to be described by Pitchfork as a "quantum leap record".Ladytron have produced remixes for many artists including Placebo, Blondie, Gang of Four, David Gahan, Goldfrapp, Bloc Party, Kings of Convenience, Indochine, Apoptygma Berzerk, She Wants Revenge, Soulwax, Nine Inch Nails and Simian.
SUGAR SHORT WAVE
Sugar Short Wave is a Portland based musician, engineer, producer, and film maker originally from Kentucky, who moved west for a taste of life and some sweeter sense of sound. She maintains an openness towards creation through her own patented sensory delay method of rehabilitating music structure for a tuned and well adjusted audience. Intricately arranged pieces are recreated line by line as the multi-instrumentalist plays and loops upright bass, guitars, keys, beats, purrs, and breath into song. Film is a passion, and given the right opportunity and space, sound and image collide. Each show Sugar Short Wave arranges is is different than the last, as she would say " Predictabilty should be avoided."
